Letter to Prime-Minister Paul Martin

Dear Prime Minister Martin:

Re: Decision to deport Mohamed Harkat

You must know that sending Mohamed Harkat to a fate worse than death is not going to protect Canadians from anything.

If the deportation order proceeds, Mohamed Harkat will be forever commemorated by Canadians as a sacrificial lamb offered up by a cowardly Liberal government to the Bush administration's rule-by-fear agenda, and history will record the death of what little remains of the "Just Society".

You can change all that by doing what's right, Prime Minister, instead of what's merely expedient.

Mohamed Harkat's deporation order must be stayed. Canada needs to stop these secret trials, abolish the security certificate and have the courage to get things out into the light of day so that proper justice can be done.
