  • A Vigil held in Toronto for Mohamed Cherfi, on November 5, 2004. Cherfi is not a security certificate detainee. He has been imprisoned in the United States since his arrest in the sanctuary of the Saint Pierre Church in Quebec City, and subsequent deportation on March 5, 2004. Read more at MohamedCherfi.org

  • One-year Anniversary Event: Mohamed Harkat Imprisoned One Year without charges, December 10, 2003, Ottawa Participants heard words of support read aloud by various supporters of Mohamed, Yavar Hameed sang and played guitar, Robert Marois read two poems of his, guests signed a guestbook which was shown to Mohamed in jail.

  • A March In Support of human rights for the Security Certificate detainees held at the Metro West Detention Centre, Rexdale (Toronto), Ontario. Participants marched between the detention centre and a local RCMP Office. A copy of The Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms was left at the RCMP Office for Mounties to peruse.

  • Rally in support of Hassan Almrei, a security certificate detainee of two years, who went on a hunger strike in the hopes of getting shoes, a sweater and a higher temperature in his cold, basement prison cell. After 39 days, he ended his hunger strike when, finally, adequate heat was provided to his cell. Five guards from the detention centre testified on Almrei's behalf, saying that they always wore winter coats when working in that part of the prison because of the terrible cold.

  • Rally In Support of the Five Security Certificate Detainees, Ottawa, August 25, 2003. A petition with thousands of signatures was presented to 24 Sussex Drive. Prime-Minister Chretien would not meet with families of the security certificate detainees.
