DECISION: Mahjoub Case, Evidence Obtained Through Torture Excluded (Pt 2 of 2) | |
Description | July 23, 2010. Justice Edmond Blanchard writes: "Mr. Mahjoub seeks to have excluded from the record information that is believed on reasonable grounds to have been obtained as a result of the use of torture or cruel, unusual or degrading treatment or punishment. The Court concludes that there are reasonable grounds to believe that some evidence on the record was obtained by the use of torture and is therefore inadmissible." Part 2 of 2.
